Garbage trucks

Painting garbage trucks/garbage truck components requires a special approach. An incorrectly designed preservation process can lead to poorly preserved components and ultimately also to an end product of low quality.

Origin of specially equipped transit paint shop

In 2010 we were approached by a manufacturer who encountered quality problems in the preservation of garbage truck components. We like to proactively contribute, which is why we analysed the problem situation and subsequently developed the perfect routing for painting garbage truck components. In 2011 we opened our specially equipped transit painting shop and we have now painted more than 7,500 garbage trucks for this manufacturer in the past 10 years!

Painting garbage truck components

A very important detail in the preservation process is that the components of the garbage trucks, as soon as they enter the paint shop, remain indoor. All processes are therefore carried out from A to Z under one roof. Why does this necessarily have to be done under one roof? Because otherwise problems arise such as cold bridges (detachment due to moisture) and rust formation after blasting and priming. The garbage trucks are transported in separate components from the supplier to our paint shop. Once the components are in our paint shop, they follow a specifically developed routing so that the garbage truck components can be painted within 3 days. Curious about the entire process? Then watch our company video on the left!

Advantages of developed routing

The preservation process has been thought out to perfection in order to be able to deliver the highest possible quality to our customers with a short lead time, taking large volumes into account. Because the preservation of components is often interwoven in the middle of the production process, the “just-in-time” delivery of components is often a requirement. Thanks to the specifically developed routing, we are able to paint components for garbage trucks at a competitive price, according to a high quality standard and we can deliver the components “just-in-time”. Outsourcing the painting of garbage truck components to an external party such as Gouweleeuw can therefore improve quality. Curious about what our developed routing looks like?
